Dulibadzimu United Football Club unveiled their squad set to do duty in the 2024 season as the club named after the famous Dulibadzimu Township, prepares for another foray in the Central Region Division one league.
The colourful event was held to present the troops to the Beitbridge community in time for the club’s first match of the season against Sheasham tomorrow.
Dulibadzimu FC, which finished the season on a respectable sixth position, is aiming for the top prize of premier league promotion and bring back elite football to their adoring fans in the border town.
Guest of honour at the unveiling of the Squad Mr Nqobile Ncube urged the team to never lose the plot through ensuring they have a vibrant grassroots presence.
“I want to applaud you for honouring the pledge made last time by making sure 20 teachers were trained in Sports and Recreation Council sports administration so that they later on become talent scouts for Duli” he said.
“In 5 years time, the team should be able to run itself from the development fees that it is going to be getting from the sell on of players which it would have identified and nurtured, Soccer star management is a billion dollar industry, people are making money by simply putting in a development clause that gives a percentage to the developing club every time the player is sold.”
He urged the club to develop into a development hub through fishing from the same pond drug lords are taking young people from and introduce them to drugs.
