The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has announced the release of the ZIMPULSE Report which it says confirms it’s long articulated position that that the country’s education is in dire straits.
The ZIMPULSE Report is digital trends analysis one, shedding light on the public mood and social media discourse around Zimbabwe’s education system, teacher welfare, and the broader socio-political context.
According to the ARTUZ, “This data-driven report confirms what teachers and learners have known for long, Zimbabwe’s public education is on life support, and the government’s continued neglect is now impossible to ignore.”
The repor also makes use of evidence provided by ARTUZ from the ground with the organisation saying that it showed classroom decay and picketing teachers gained high traction across platforms, a clear signal of the power of real, lived experiences in shaping national conversations.
On the economic front, the report closely monitors the mood of teachers in relation to the introduction of the ZiG saying, “The government’s continued rollout of the ZiG currency was met with skepticism, especially from citizens paid in the unstable local currency while essential commodities like fuel remain priced in USD.”
ARTUZ has urged journalists across the country to explore the report, extract stories that matter, and help amplify the voices of teachers and learners demanding dignity, fairness, and access to quality public education.
