THE bail application for Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe and his co-accused, Tobias Tamirepi Matonhdze, has been postponed to March 5.
The two appeared briefly at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning.
Proceedings were adjourned after the state indicated that certain outstanding documents still need to be furnished to the defence before the bail hearing can proceed.
According to Reports, Mugabe’s legal representative, Sinenhlanhla Mnguni, confirmed that the defence has not yet received the full set of documents from the prosecution.
As a result, both accused will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
Mugabe and Matonhodze face charges linked to an alleged shooting incident involving a 23-year-old gardener at a residence in Hyde Park.
The charges include attempted murder, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and defeating the ends of justice.
The firearm believed to have been used in the incident has not yet been recovered.
During an earlier court appearance, state prosecutor Lufuno Maphiri indicated that investigations are ongoing, including efforts to locate the missing firearm.
Police previously confirmed that the gardener was in critical condition following the incident.
Media repotts also said Mugabe further charges if flouting immigration laws.
