BEITBRIDGE’s artists Edgar Tumbare and Hermish Cheya are taking their creativity from the stage to the business world with the official opening of The Mattle Grills restaurant on July 25, 2026, at 2pm.
The new food outlet, located at Legends Gardens behind Adriel School, reflects the duo’s vision of balancing their music careers with entrepreneurship as they diversify their sources of income.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Tumbare said the business venture had been in the pipeline for some time and was inspired by the need to combine their passion for music with enterprise.
“I feel so happy about the new initiative which Hermish and I began. It is something we had planned to balance pushing our musical shows and enterprising as well,” he said.
The grand opening will also transform into a live entertainment experience, with The Fugeez Band headlining the event alongside Beitbridge diva Natty B, King Dijala and King Washo, popularly known as Ngwere Yeku Beitbridge.
The Fugeez Band, made up of Edgar Tumbare and Hermish Cheya, has built a following through performances and gospel-inspired music.
Cheya is known for songs including Nhare and Chitenderano, among others.
Beitbridge Diva Anna Mugomba, popularly known as Natty B, commended the initiative, saying artists should embrace entrepreneurship alongside their music careers.
“I am happy for the brothers stepping up to balance music and enterprise, which goes hand in hand with the trade. As the launch approaches, I am ready to deliver a top performance,” she said.
The launch is expected to celebrate not only the opening of the restaurant but also the growth of Beitbridge’s entertainment industry, while encouraging artists to explore business opportunities alongside their musical careers.
