The Member of Parliament for Beitbridge East Constituency and Minister of State for Matebeleland South, Hon. Albert Nguluvhe, is expanding a comprehensive poultry project across all wards in his constituency, aimed at uplifting rural communities and fostering economic self-sufficiency.

The initiative, part of a two-year plan launched and being implemented by the Honourable Member of Parliament involves the distribution of road runner chickens to various groups in each ward, including schools, war veterans, widows, village heads, children of war veterans, youth, and women’s leagues.

This ongoing and expanded project aligns with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of “Leaving no one and no place behind,” focusing on empowering individuals in rural areas to embark on chicken breeding ventures that can ensure financial sustenance at family level.

Speaking at a recent gathering, Hon. Nguluvhe emphasized the importance of inclusive development across the entire constituency.

My goal is to ensure that no community, village, town centre or province is left behind in our developmental efforts,” he stated.

He urged communities in all wards to embrace the project with dedication, acknowledging that progress takes time but will ultimately yield significant benefits.

“Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo (a country is built by its own people),” Hon. Nguluvhe remarked, encouraging citizens across the constituency to take the lead in driving economic growth and development towards an egalitarian Upper Middle Income Society by 2030.

Beyond the poultry project, MP Nguluvhe has been actively involved in developing rural areas through the Constituency Development Funds (CDFs). Notably, a clinic has been constructed in Ward 2 Dumba, which is now complete with nurses deployed and awaiting commissioning.

“By investing in education, healthcare, and sustainable economic opportunities, we can create resilient societies that empower individuals and communities to thrive,” Nguluvhe stated.

The initiative has been met with appreciation from communities across the constituency.

Namadzabo Nguluvhe, headman of Lukange Village in Ward 2, commended the minister’s efforts in providing youth with the resources to start their projects.

“We are very grateful for the Minister providing our youth with these chickens as a starting point for their businesses. It is a good opportunity for them to learn and earn,” he said.
