A 27 year old man from Ipaye Village, Chief Sitaudze,Shashe, Tuli Beitbridge, has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempted murder, where he withdrew an okapi knife from his trousers and stabbed the complainant on the chest. He was sentenced and convicted by Beitbridge Magistrate Court.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), reports that Nkosilathi Ndlovu and the complainant were travelling together from Toporo Business Centre, Shashe, in Beitbridge when a misunderstanding arose between them.
The accused person started assaulting the complainant using a donkey whip. This resulted in the two engaging in a fight.
As they were fighting, the accused person withdrew an okapi knife from his trousers and stabbed the complainant on the chest.
He only stopped from stabbing the complainant further when he was restrained.
A Police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person.
