PERENNIAL Top 8 qualifiers Dulibadzimu United FC and new comers Vhembe Stars Academy both from Beitbridge town are out of the Dream Inn BnB and Gold Metal Investments 2026 ZIFA Central Region Soccer League (CRSL) Super Challenge Cup whose draw in on today.
The draw will be in Kwekwe where the sponsors who include the owners of Chahwanda Stadium and Premier League side Hardrock FC hail from.
A statement from the sponsors yesterday said the cup for the Top 8 CRSL clubs will be held on Saturday and some officials from the region’s Division One Clubs had been invited.
“The Dream Inn BnB and Gold Metal Investments (GMI) are proud to officially announce the launch of the 2026 Dream Inn-GMI Super Challenge Cup in partnership with the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League (CRSL),” said the invite widely shared on social media.
It said the official launch and draw ceremony will be held on Saturday, 25 July 2026, in Kwekwe, where the participating clubs will learn their quarter-final opponents ahead of the highly anticipated knockout tournament.
“The event will bring together football stakeholders, sponsors, club representatives, media practitioners and invited guests as the countdown to the inaugural Dream Inn-GMI Super Challenge Cup begins,” said the statement.
“The tournament will feature the top eight teams on the 2026 Central Region Soccer League mid-season standings, competing in a knockout competition comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.”
Both Duliz and Vhembe Stars Academy are out of the top eight and lie close to the relegation zone after a dismal performance in the first part of the season.
Speaking ahead of the launch, GMI Director Shepherd Magodora Chahwanda said the cup marked an important phase in his companies commitment to football in Zimbabwe.
“This sponsorship marks an important milestone for Gold Metal Investments and Dream Inn as we deepen our commitment to the development of football in Zimbabwe. The tournament will culminate in a grand final at Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe, with the date to be announced in due course.
