AN imbiber identified as Simbarashe Mapota died on Monday night or early Tuesday at a drinking place behind both the Ontime and Gumblers bars in the Beitbridge central business district.

Relatives and friends identified Mapota known as a person normally found at Gain Supermarkets where he was a porter assisting shoppers.

When Ziyah News Network arrived at the scene, the remains of the deceased were still lying on the floor, with a liquid substance oozing from his mouth.

Police officers were at the scene conducting interviews with people working at the bars and kitchen. One woman, who had closed her shop at the end of business, said there was no one in sight when she shut down for the day.

He was seen by workers who arrived early and saw the lifeless body.

Police took the remains to the Government mortuary.
