With four days to go,Zimbabwe men’s rugby team, the Cheetahs are ready to make progress and conquer the continent in the Africa Seven Cup showdown in Mauritius.
The Africa Seven Cup showdown is scheduled to run for twp days the 21st and 22nd June.
The Zimbabwe Rugby Union has confirmed that the Cheetahs are well prepared to compete in the tournament.
“The Cheetahs are determined to make a strong statement as they chase continental glory and a place in global qualification pathways,” the Zimbabwe Rugby Union stated.
Cheetahs are in pool C alongside Madagascar, Tunisia and the hosts Mauritius.
In 2024, Kenya was crowned the champions of the Africa Men’s Seven Cup after defeating South Africa, while Zimbabwe finished fourth, losing to Uganda in the third place play- offs.
The following are the players who will be doing duty for Zimbabwe:
Vuyani Dhlomo, Munashe Dukuswa, Tanaka Mudzekenyedzi, Edward Sigauke, Godfrey Magaramombe, Ryan Musumhi, Tapiwa Malenga, Dion Khumalo, Tapiwa Mafura, Tinotenda Mavesere, Carlos Matematema and Trevor Gurwe.
