BEITBRIDGE was painted in bright colours displaying a rainbow town as the Colour Run Festival took place at Hydro Haven on August 29, 2026.
Located behind Adriel Junior School, the event brought together children and adults coloured in blue, red, green and black, creating an atmosphere of social interaction and community engagement.
Music and entertainment were provided by Pretoria-based DJ Baster ZA, whose set kept the crowd entertained throughout the event.
Children also took part in swimming activities, with many enjoying the water as part of the day’s programme.
The festival provided an opportunity for parents and children to spend time together, while artists, influencers, DJs and comedians used the occasion to connect and network.
The idea behind the Colour Run in is to promote community wellness, fitness, and family bonding in a non-competitive, joyful environment.
It has been held in other parts of the country and the next episode is scheduled for Borrowdale, Harare.
Participants pay a fee to become part of the fun-filled event and it has ordiarily attracted families.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, event organiser Petronella Mudyahoto said she was pleased with the turnout.
“I am so happy with the huge turnout. As I looked around, all I could see were colours with meaning, painting the town rainbow,” she said
“I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Beitbridge community for coming through. It was a good day of creating memories and social networking.”

Influencer Clifton Tawana said the event also provided an opportunity for creators to build relationships.
“As influencers, we met and connected. I feel like more events like these should happen as they build relationships amongst creators in Beitbridge,” she said.
“I want to give special thanks to Black Pepper Entertainment for creating a platform like this for Beitbridge.”
As the day came to an end, residents left Hydro Haven having spent the day enjoying music, activities, family time and networking in a colourful community setting.
