VETERAN disc jockey DJ Mrex and DJ Fizzy are set to represent Beitbridge in Musina, South Africa, this Saturday, October 17, as they take their sound beyond the border.
Born in Lutumba, Prince Marambani, popularly known as DJ Mrex, has spent at least 18 years in the entertainment industry, earning recognition through performances at major venues in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
DJ Mrex is no small name in the show business.
His story includes collaborations with major brands and established artists, including South African-based BET Award winner Makhadzi, who performed at Shabwe Beitbridge in the early stages of her career in 2016.
Then a starter just hearding out Makhadzi jumped the border into Zimbabwe and was carried by donkey carts “gariki” to venues in Beitbridge where DJ Mrex was on the turn-tables for her.
Meanwhile, DJ Fizzy has 11 years of experience performing at major venues, including a tour in Gweru that attracted attention following a Nash TV social media post featuring his performance at Nuli Shabwe.
Lutumba, regarded as one of Beitbridge’s entertainment hubs, has produced talented disc jockeys, including DJ Doctor, a two-time Beitbridge DJs Clash winner in 2025 and 2026.
The two DJs have played a significant role in Beitbridge’s entertainment industry, influencing and inspiring the younger generation.
Commenting on the tour, DJ Mrex said his years in the local entertainment industry had been a great experience.
“I have played for years in the Beitbridge entertainment and it was a great experience,” he said.
“As the young generation grows to dominate, I feel it’s time to spread my wings, tapping into the regional zone by playing in Musina and other neighbouring countries.”
He also said, Musina fans should expect an exciting night before the tour proceeds to Mushambe and All Days.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, DJ Fizzy expressed his excitement for the tour, saying the opportunity to connect with fans beyond his hometown is important.
“I have always enjoyed playing out of my hometown, as it is the period we connect with fans outside our country,” he said.
“Musina, we come to take over.”
Event promoter Marko Nevhutali also welcomed the collaboration, describing the opportunity to host the two DJs as a blessing.
“It’s a huge blessing getting a set from both the kings of decks,” he said.
“Besides the fact that they are on trend, I am confident The Force Shutdown will rock.”
As the tour progresses, DJ Fizzy is expected to perform in All Days, Limpopo Province, ahead of the All Stars Limpopo Disc Jockeys Clash later this month.
The tour is expected to provide the two Beitbridge entertainers with an opportunity to reach new audiences and showcase the town’s entertainment talent in neighbouring South Africa.
