MultiChoice-owned DStv has announced that it will discontinue broadcasting Prophet Walter Magaya’s Yadah TV channel effective today and the reason behind the cutting off the channel was not disclosed.
Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries was founded by Prophet Walter Magaya in 2012 and launched Yadah TV on DStv on 18 January 2018 as channel 281.
The channel provided a platform for PHD Ministries to share its message of hope, healing, deliverance, gospel music and live sermons with a wider audience.
This move of closing Yadah Tv comes as a surprise, especially considering the popularity of religious programming in Africa.
DStv has a history of making changes to its channel lineup, previously in 2024 it dropped Emmanuel tv which was founded by Prophet TB Joshua.
The removal of Yadah TV has left many people wondering about the reasons behind the decision.
The closure of the channel compounds the woes Prophet Magaya has been facing of late. The PHD founder has been hogging the limelight over his bid to become the ZIFA president where it was exposed he did not possess the requisite minimum 5 Ordinary levels.
In a bid to overturn his disqualification, Magaya went to court and presented a Diploma from UNISA which has since been proven fake by the institution. UNISA has since threatened to sue the Prophet.
