A local non-governmental organization, Maggie’s Unique Designs, has once again hosted a three-day craft training program for people living with disabilities  in Beitbridge.

The workshop is a build up from the last one held last year.

Sponsored by Culture Funds, the initiative aims to equip participants with the skills needed to create bracelets, necklaces, and waist wear using beads and string, providing them with an opportunity to generate income.

At least seven individuals with disabilities were equipped with the knowledge to create key holders and bracelets from scratch, arming them with skills that can help build sustainable livelihoods.

Magness Ndlovu, the director and founder of Maggie’s Unique Designs, emphasized the importance of such programs.

“I am very proud of the outcome of this workshop, as the attendees have mastered the skills in no time,” she stated.

She further urged the participants to continue practicing their skills to improve their creativity and precision in beading.

Free beads and threads were distributed to the beneficiaries to encourage ongoing practice and skill enhancement.

One of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Maggie’s Unique Designs for such an initiative that will help them become self-sufficient.

“I am very happy to be one of the beneficiaries of this workshop and would like to thank Maggie for bringing it to us for free. We will use these skills to sustain ourselves in the future,” she said.
