THE Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland South, Albert Nguluvhe, has pledged to pay for 50 supporters of Dulivhdzimu United on all their remaining home games.
He also asked elected executives of Dulibadzimu United FC to put the interests of the club ahead of personal ambitions.
Speaking at the Dulibadzimu United FC 2026 Annual General Meeting in Beitbridge on Saturday night, Nguluvhe said strong leadership was key to the club’s growth and long-term success.
“Every home game I will pay entrance fees for 50 supporters. I hope these will be supporters from the society who love the team despite financial challenges. This money will go directly to the treasurer of the team,” he said.
He also pledged to help the team secure sponsorship,” much to the applause of the crowd.
Nguluvhe described the annual general meeting as an important democratic platform where members have the responsibility to chose leaders hoping they will serve with integrity, accountability and vision.
“Leadership is not about positions or titles; it is about service, accountability, integrity and vision. Members should elect leaders who place the interests of the club above personal interests. Let transparency, unity and sound governance guide every decision,” said Nguluvhe.
He praised the outgoing executive committee for its dedication and commitment in steering the club, while encouraging the incoming leadership to build strong partnerships, manage resources responsibly and prioritise the welfare of players and supporters.
Nguluvhe said Dulibadzimu United FC is more than a football club, describing it as a source of hope, unity and pride for the people of Beitbridge through its role in nurturing young talent and promoting discipline.
He reiterated Government’s commitment to supporting grassroots sport, saying football contributes to youth empowerment, social cohesion and national development.
The minister also appealed to businesses, development partners and the wider Beitbridge community to continue supporting the club, saying investment in sport was an investment in young people and safer communities.
Nguluvhe wishing the newly elected executive success as it leads the club into the future and officially declared the 2026 Annual General Meeting open.
