The 2024 title contenders, and Eastern Region Soccer League’s “Moneybags” then, FC Wangu Mazodze, have withdrawn from the League citing  citing victimisation.

FC Wangu Mazodze released a statement announcing their withdrawal from the ERSL citing incessant victimisation by  the Eastern Region Soccer League through biased refereeing  and persecution through prosecution.

“Following the incessant victimisation from the Eastern Region Soccer League through biased improperly constituted tribunals of facts and persecution through prosecution, the family trust has engaged the executive Chairman of FC Wangu Mazodze to with  regard to the same…,” FC Wangu Mazodze said in a statement.

FC Wangu Mazodze further highlighted that the Eastern Region Soccer League Division One has no elected leadership, which enables unreasonable acts.

“it is common cause the Pacific Eastern Region Soccer League Division one doesn’t have elected leadership and it’s statutes are ultra vires the FIFA and ZIFA statutes. The current leadership are de facto not de jure hence the doctrine of necessity applies as established in the Madzimbamuto v larder Buke and another (1969) 1 AC 645. However this does not give the same people a free reign to exercise unfettered powers manifest as Wednesbury unreasonable Ness.. ” added the club.

Addressing the issue of unelected ERSL leadership, FC Wangu Mazodze said” t is a heavy heart that some elected people who have never contributed anything to football are destroying and frustrating those who contribute to the development of football”.

FC Wangu Mazodze statement not only revealed their withdrawal but also made accusations against the Eastern Region Soccer League Division one leadership.
