The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has successfully intercepted a major drug trafficking operation at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, arresting two foreign nationals who arrived from Thailand.

 The suspects were found in possession of four suitcases containing a substantial quantity of loose skunky dagga, weighing a total of approximately 70 kilograms.

The seized contraband includes 18.5 kilograms in the first suitcase, 17 kilograms in the second suitcase, 18.4 kilograms in the third suitcase, 16 kilograms in the fourth suitcase

This bust highlights the ZRP’s continued efforts to combat international drug trafficking and protect the country from the widespread of illicit substances.

The country is currently grappling with a drug and substance abuse problem that is threatening to wipe out a generation and most of the abused drugs are smuggled into the country by a cartel of drug lords.
