The Gokwe High Court circuit has sentenced Thomas Nyamadzawo to 25 years in prison after he was found guilty of murdering his 4-year-old daughter in a tragic axe attack.
Circumstances are that Nyamadzawo returned home and had a disagreement with his wife, over an undisclosed issue.
During the heated exchange the offender armed himself with an axe and swung it at his wife. Instead of hitting his wife he missed and struck his daughter who was in his wife’s arms.
He struck the now deceased once on the forehead before someone intervened and disarmed him, pulling him out of the hut.
The deceased’s mother failed to get transport to take the injured child to hospital and she succumbed to her injuries.
