Zhomba High School in Gokwe, has been temporarily closed after several students reportedly exhibited strange behavior, which school officials are attributing to a mysterious spiritual attack.
Gokwe North District Development Coordinator, Mr. Martin Musakanda, has confirmed that authorities are currently investigating the situation.
The headmaster of Zhomba High School, Mr. Washington Chikunichawa, stated that the unusual incidents began on Monday with one student, but the issue has since escalated, affecting a total of eight students.
“I sent all learners home due to their strange behavior,” Chikunichawa said.
He also noted that local chiefs and district leaders are convening to discuss the next steps in addressing the situation.
Adding to the concern, Gokwe-Kabuyuni legislator Cde Spencer Tshuma highlighted that Zhomba High School has a history of eerie occurrences.
“Last year, a whirlwind mysteriously carried away an exam answer sheet, which was later found 500 meters from the classroom,” he revealed.
This previous incident has led community members to speculate whether these occurrences are connected.
