SOCCER Sunday Reloaded, Beitbridge’s model social soccer outfit on Wednesday bid farewell to one of its players Senior Muchimbiri who died this week.
In an announcement Monday SSR vice secretary general Tungamirai Chaibva broke the disturbing news that broke all team members’ hearts.
“It is with a grieving and very painful heart that we address the passing on of one of our own, Senior from Nottingham is no more, he fell at home and was rushed here in Beitbridge and unfortunately he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” Chaibva said in a message.
Messages of condolences began pouring from the club members who yesterday thronged Nyaradzo funeral parlour where the family was collecting the remains of Senior, a confident goal scorer and forceful striker who led from the front.

“Please Please, let’s kindly meet at Nyaradzo at 1600 (4pm) today, Senior s family has decided to travel today with our departed brother,” Chaibva said in an update.
Senior, as he was fondly addressed in his real name, will be laid to rest Chachacha (Shurugwi) possibly on Friday if arrangements remain unchanged.
His last goal for his team was at Chidixwa Secondary School grounds where he was at the end of an assist from leftwing Rex Mphisa.
On what was to be his last match, when he brought oranges for his team, he raced and beat an offside trap for the opposition to score a beauty that signed off his playing days.
