A National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) goods trains derailed at Jangano near the gold city’s Central Business District close to Kadoma yesterday in the morning.
The train veered off the tracks and landed in a waterlogged area, possibly due to heavy rainfall weakening the ground.
No injuries or deaths have been reported.
The NRZ recently experienced washaways on some parts of their rail lines due to incessant rains. One of the affected lines, the Rutenga-Chicualacuala line, which was damaged by rainwater, has been repaired and is now open to traffic.
