The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) has unveiled the examination fees and deadlines for the June and November 2025 O Level and A Level exams.

In a notice released on yesterday, Zimsec announced that the government will cover 55% of the exam fees for candidates in public schools.

However, candidates from private schools, along with private candidates in public institutions, will be required to pay the full exam fees.

“Following the approval of the 2025 Ordinary and Advanced Level examination fees, please be advised that Government will be subsidizing the 2025 Ordinary and Advanced level examination fees for candidates in public schools, Local Authority Schools, and Mission Schools,” read part of the statement

The fees for the 2025 exams will be USD 24.00 per subject for O Level and USD 48.00 per subject for A Level. This means that candidates in public schools will pay 45% of the fees, while the government will cover the remaining 55%.

Zimsec will also allow payments in South African Rand or Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) at prevailing interbank rates. For those opting to pay in ZiG for the June 2025 exams, payments should be made from March 10 to March 14, 2025, with a registration deadline of March 14, 2025.

“2025 June Examination fees payment in ZWG to be made during the period 10 March and 14 March 2025 at the prevailing rate of the 10 of March 2025, which will be communicated to all centres,” the notice stated.

For parents and guardians wishing to pay in ZiG for the November 2025 exams, payments will be accepted from March 24 to March 28, 2025, with a closing date of March 28, 2025.

“2025 November Examination Fees payment in ZWG to be made during the period 24 March 2025 and 28 March 2025 at the prevailing rate of the 24th of March 2025, which will be communicated to all centres,” the notice confirmed.
