The Second Republic led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been working hard to deal with the issues and challenges birthed from the activities of land barons who had been on the prowl in the years post the fast track land reform programme. In doing so, the Government has moved to regularise some settlements in urban and peri urban illegal settlements and declared zero tolerance to land barons but it seems the unruly elements are unrelenting.
Their latest escapades have emerged in Goromonzi under a company called Pullhill Enterprise that has begun parceling and servicing stands forcing the Ministry of Local Government and Publics Works to issue out a statement warning the public not to be duped by these conmen.
“The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works has noted with concern the illegal developments through opening of roads and the sale of stands by a company identified as Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies at Lot 2 Stuhm in Goromonzi, between Murewa and Shamva roads”
“The public is hereby informed that the land in question is urban Stateland under the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.”
According to Section 43 of the Regional Town and Country Planning Act, Chapter 29.12, the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, on behalf of His Excellency, the President Cde Dr E. D Mnangagwa, has the sole authority to subdivide, lease or sale urban Stateland
It is against the background that Minister Daniel Garwe warns the aforementioned entity to stop its illegal activities and directing law enforcement agencies to deal with the rot.
“The Minister hereby directs Pullhill Enterprises and its agencies or any other unauthorized entities to stop the illegal developments and sale of stands on Lot 2 of Stuhm. Further, the Ministry is advising the public not to purchase the stands being advertised on Lot 2 of Stuhm or any other land or stands that are not authorised, as they risk losing their hard earned money, and being prosecuted for illegal take up of urban Stateland.”
“Law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders are hereby advised to take appropriate action as per their respective mandates.”
