Lusaka, Zambia – Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) has announced that its Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President, Mr. Tadiwanashe Matope, is currently representing both the university and Zimbabwe at the 2025 African Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference, being held in Lusaka, Zambia.

The announcement was made on GZU’s official Facebook page, highlighting Mr. Matope’s participation in the high-level continental gathering, which brings together emerging young leaders from across Africa.

 The conference serves as a critical platform for youth to exchange ideas, build transnational networks, and explore innovative strategies in leadership and entrepreneurship.

“As SRC President, Mr. Matope is engaging with fellow youth leaders from various African nations, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing that will positively impact the Great Zimbabwe University community,” read the university’s statement.

Mr. Matope’s presence at the event not only positions GZU on the continental stage but also reflects the institution’s commitment to empowering student leadership and promoting a culture of innovation.

The African Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference is renowned for its focus on equipping young changemakers with tools to drive sustainable development in their communities. With themes centered on entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusive leadership, the 2025 edition aims to amplify youth voices in shaping Africa’s future.

Mr. Matope is expected to bring back insights and connections that will benefit both GZU and the broader Zimbabwean student community.
