HARDROCK and Dynamos football clubs have been charged by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for crowd trouble that saw several fans hospitalised due to injuries and abandonment of their match last Sunday.
In a press statement the PSL communications offi er Kudzai Bare said the date for the hearing was set for June 9.
Executives from both clubs have been summoned.
“The Premier Soccer League has summoned Hardrock FC, their Chief Executive Officer Mr Kudzanai Hove and Dynamos FC to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following incidents of crowd trouble that occurred during the abandoned Castle Lager PSL match between Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC played on 24 May 2026 at Chahwanda Stadium,” Bare said.
“Both Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC have been charged with breaching PSL rules and regulations. The clubs stand accused of causing the abandonment of the match, disturbing the normal proceedings of a match, pitch invasion, acts of violence and malicious damage to property,” he said
Hardrock FC faces the additional charge of failing to provide adequate security for the match.
Hardrock FC CEO, Kudzanai Hove has been individually charged with disorderly conduct, pitch invasion, and violent behaviour. Already he has been arrested by police where he faces criminal charges.
The match was abandoned while the teams were level at 1–1 through a controversial penalty, the final blow that torched the violence.
Earlier Dynamos fans grew restless when a Hardrock kit manager stood at the centre of the pitch for almost three hours in what is believed a juju stunt.
Several stakeholders have condemned the violence which appears to have followed Hardrock from its Division One settings when it was blamed for violence at Bata Stadium.
The Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture said it is concerned by the violence that led to the abandonment of the Premier Soccer League match, between Hard Rock FC and Dynamos FC, at Chahwanda on Sunday 24 May 2026.
“The disciplinary hearing will take place at the Premier Soccer League offices on 9 June 2026 at 1730hrs,” said Bare.
