BEITBRIDGE police are investigating a case in which the remains of an infant were discovered in the Kwalu Suburb area on Tuesday night.

The acting officer commanding Beitbridge Police District Superintendent Philisani Ndebele, confirmed the incident and said investigations are still in their infancy.

“We have only recovered the legs of the infant, and at this point, we are unable to determine the gender of the child or establish the identity of the parents,” said Ndebele.

Sources told Ziyah News Network the legs of the infant were discovered in the bush just outside Kwalu in the western part of Dulivhadzimu.

Some members of the community who were walking in the bush stumbled upon the remains which have since been taken to Beitbridge District Hospital for storage.
