A Beitbridge based journalist and events director Patience Moyo aka MC Pashy has embarked on a community service assignment going on a crusade to raise $400 for a desperate child needing an emergency operation.
In a notice on residents Whatsapp platforms MC Pashy asked willing residents and organisations to donate generously towards the operation of a child whose mother is expected to raise 25 percent of the required $1570.
“I come to you again with an urgent appeal for help. A mother and her 3-year-old son are in need of urgent surgery. The child has a severe case of adenoids and is having difficulty breathing, especially when sleeping,” she wrote.
She said the total cost of the operation is $1570 and tge mother’s employer was willing to raise tge bulk of tge amount, 75 percent.
“She is required to pay the remaining 25%, which is $392,” wrote MC Pashy.
“She has tried everything and she is still at zero. I am kindly asking for your help to raise the $392 so this little boy can have the operation and breathe normally again. Please help with any amount. No donation is too small. Your help will save a life and give this child a chance to grow up healthy,” she said.
Her appeal even caught the attention of the Matabeleland South Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution Albert Nguluvhe who has since made a donation.
Adenoids are a patch of soft lymphoid tissue located high up in the throat just behind the nose.
