A 21 year old man from Karoi has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by the Karoi Magistrate Court for having sexual intercourse with a minor.
The National Prosecuting Authority in Zimbabwe states that “On an unknown date in Karoi town the offender expressed his romantic interests to a 17 year old victim and on the 16th of June 2025 the offender visited the victim’s home area where they spent time together until 2200hours.”
When the victim realised that it was late and she could not go home, the proceeded to the offender’s place of residence in Chiedza.
According to the NPAZ, they had sexual intercourse that night and started living as husband and wife.
That’s when the matter came to light following a tip off at ZRP Karoi.
