BEITBRIDGE came alive with fashion and good music as Ha Moze Chillspot hosted the fourth edition of the Lekompo Cultural Festival on August 15, 2026.
Located at Beitbridge industrial site, the venue was filled with Nike, Adidas outfits and an electric atmosphere as Lekompo enthusiasts danced to a back-to-back set by DJ Afro Master and Charks SA.
Lekompo is a cultural movement associated with fashion, particularly Nike and Adidas brands, and has attracted a significant following in Limpopo Province, South Africa.
The movement has also gained popularity among young people in Beitbridge, with hundreds embracing its fashion, music and lifestyle despite its origins outside Zimbabwe.
Musically, Lekompo is driven by a fusion of Bolobedu music and house music, creating a distinctive sound popularised by artists such as Shebeshxt, King Monada and Makhadzi.
The festival featured performances from Jex Waga, Bhadilah, King Hluza, Naqua and DJ Fizzy Mr No Look, among other acts.
Event coordinator Rofhiwa Ndou described the festival as a positive experience for Beitbridge Lekompo enthusiasts.
“Lekompo was just a great experience Beitbridge needed. Happening for the fourth time, Lekompo lovers showed up in numbers,” he said.
“This year’s edition had the most numbers compared with previous ones.”
He also said, the event was also notable for being peaceful.
“Usually, every Lekompo event we witness violent cases during the event, but this time it was a clean, well-executed event,” he said.
“We want to extend our gratitude to Beitbridge residents for the huge turnout, and we assure them of more entertaining events on the lineup.”
DJ Fizzy said performing at the festival demonstrated the growing popularity of the culture in Beitbridge.
“It feels great playing at the Lekompo culture. At most times, Beitbridge has always vibed to dancehall music, but this time it was the Lekompo culture building the name and a strong fan base,” he said.
