The Zimbabwe Football Association President Nqobile Magwizi alongside Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Kirsty Coventry have rallied behind the Mighty Warriors ahead of their WAFCON qualifiers clash against Angola.
The two visited the team in camp and boosting their morale ahead of the clash.
ZIFA President Magwizi emphasized that one of the organization’s key objectives is to empower women in football, both as players on the field and as leaders in administrative roles off the field.
“As ZIFA, we remain steadfast in our commitment to capacitating our women both on and off the field. Our goal is not just to develop exceptional footballers but to shape confident, ambitious, and empowered individuals who will inspire generations to come. We are working tirelessly to ensure that our female athletes receive equal opportunities, adequate facilities, and the respect they deserve within the sporting community,” ZIFA president Magwizi stated.
After being impressed by team spirit in the camp, Minister Coventry also wished the team success and reaffirmed her unwavering support for them.
The Mighty Warriors are set to battle against Angola on the 20th of February in Luanda for their WAFCON qualifiers first leg with the return leg coming a week later in South Africa.
