The husband of popular social media personality Mai Jeremiah, whose real name is Ashly, has publicly addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding her allegations of sexual assault.
In a heartfelt message shared under the banner Ngoma Republic, he confirmed that his wife is indeed a survivor of sexual violence and emphasized that the case is currently before the courts.
Expressing his frustration with the public discourse, he condemned the character attacks and judgmental remarks directed at Ashly, highlighting that much of the negativity stems from misconceptions about her online skits.
“The person you see as Mai Jeremiah is a work character,” he stated, urging the public to distinguish between her online persona and her real-life self.
The couple, who have been married for eight years and are parents to three children, have faced intense scrutiny since the allegations surfaced. The husband described Ashly as a loyal wife and dedicated mother, vehemently rejecting claims that she was lured or manipulated into compromising situations. He emphasized that she has always rejected inappropriate advances from influential individuals.
He also addressed claims suggesting that the incident was a failed attempt at a threesome, asserting that these allegations are false and that Ashly withdrew the case from the courts because she was not truthful.
In closing, he expressed unwavering support for his wife, stating, “Whether we win or lose, just know that your husband and the whole family believe in you. We stand with you through this difficult time.”
The statement has sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms, with supporters rallying behind Ashly and calling for justice and accountability.
