A Beitbridge man has been granted a five-year protection order against his wife after the court heard claims of physical and emotional abuse.

Ronald Mukono appeared before Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni on Monday, January 19, 2026, seeking a protection order against his wife, Faith Sembure.

Mukono told the court that Sembure had been assaulting him, sometimes using fists and dangerous objects. He also testified that she interfered with his work by communicating with his employees without his consent.

He further told the court that Sembure denied him conjugal rights and failed to support or accept him during periods of financial hardship. Despite these issues, the couple is still residing together.

“I want her to stop assaulting me and to accept me even when I do not have money,” Mukono told the court.

Sembure did not oppose the application.

“I have no objections, my Lord,” she said.

After hearing submissions from both parties, the court granted the protection order by consent.

The order prohibits Sembure from assaulting Mukono for a period of five years.
