Harare, Zimbabwe – The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has issued a statement clarifying that recent social media reports claiming Churchill Road will be closed from June 9 to November 28, 2025, are false.
In a statement released on June 8, 2025, the Ministry emphasized that Churchill Road remains fully open to traffic.
The alleged road closure and any associated construction work have not been approved or implemented. The Ministry assured the public that it is committed to transparent communication and will provide official notices through its website, verified social media channels, and other government platforms should any future road closures or projects be authorized.
The Ministry urged motorists and residents to disregard the circulating rumors, stating, “These claims are entirely untrue. Churchill Road remains open, and there are no current plans for closure or expansion work at this time.”
Officials reiterated their commitment to keeping the public informed and discouraged spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary confusion or inconvenience.
The Ministry advised the public to rely only on official sources for updates on infrastructure projects and roadworks.
