BEITBRIDGE West Member of Parliament Thusani Ndou on Sunday, hosted a thank-you party in gratitude to voters who ushered him into Parliament.
The event, held at Vhembe High School, drew party members and affiliates of the ruling ZANU PF.
Different structures of the party gathered to celebrate what they described as notable development taking place in Ndou’s constituency.
Speakers saidb Ndou isn championing development initiatives in the area, including infrastructure projects such as the construction of schools and bridges.
They said he is initiating livelihood programmes like goat farming aimed at strengthening household incomes.
A constituentb VhoMasitha, praised Ndou .
“Ndou is encouraging us to work together with Government and not to wait for donations,” he said.
“Beitbridge West has changed. Schools and bridges are being built and he is also promoting goat farming so that communities can improve their livelihoods.”
Beitbidge Municipality Women’s Quota councillor Brenda Maworere praised Ndou’s leadership, saying residents remain confident in him.
“We do not regret voting for you,” Maworere said.
“We are always behind you to support your ideas. I am one of the individuals who benefited from Honourable Ndou’s votes. I am happy and overwhelmed.”
Junior Member of Parliament P. Sengeya also expressed appreciation for Ndou’s support towards improving learning facilities at Vhembe High school.
“Honourable Ndou facilitated the preparation of the school sports ground in 2022 and also assisted in securing a borehole at the school,” she said.
Another ZANU PF member Makanaka Zvitondi from Harare applauded voters in the constituency for electing what he described as a committed and selfless leader.
“Beitbridge must not only be a gateway for development to other cities. It must also benefit as a transit town,” he said.
Zvitondi called on party leadership to prioritise youth empowerment through land allocation for agricultural activities.
“When youths are empowered, poverty declines,” he said.
Ndou thanked President Emmerson Mnangagwa and party supporters for their continued support and urged residents to remain united in advancing development in the district.
“There is no service delivery if people are divided. It is high time we move on and forget our differences,” Ndou said.
“So long as we are not united, even issues such as the sewage outcry in Beitbridge will not end,” he said.
