The bottle necks at the Beitbridge border post continue to pile up after Zimborders, announced new access toll fees for funeral parlours.

Zimborders, the company responsible for sprucing up the country’s busiest port of entry in a Build Operate and Transfer agreement with the Government of Zimbabwe announced that the new fees are effective the first of April.

“Dear Valued Customers, please note as from 1 April 2025 all Funeral Parlours will pay the following toll,Minibus/Kombi carrying a deceased person with no trailer USD41, Minibus/Kombi pulling a trailer with a deceased person USD85,indicated the Zimborders notice to stakeholders.

While Zimborders has done remarkably well in face lifting and transforming the port of entry, traveller’s especially motorist have raised concerns around the increased fees one has to part with since the coming in of the entity.

Motorists from either side of the border contend the fees paid at the border are not only exorbitant but one too many especially for a country that is out to improve the ease of doing business and attract tourists.
