Excitement is rising ahead of the 2025/26 Domestic T20 Competition as Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed that selected fixtures will now be played under lights at Harare Sports Club, marking a major boost for both fans and players.

The tournament begins today, with Eagles opening the campaign against Tuskers at 9:30am.

Defending champions Rhinos then take on Mountaineers in the afternoon encounter at 1:30pm.

Tuesday’s schedule remains untouched, featuring Rhinos versus Tuskers in the morning and Southern Rocks against Eagles later in the day.

In a bid to enhance attendance and prepare players for international standards, ZC has shifted several midweek and weekend matches into the evening.

Fixtures set for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday will now start at 1:45pm and 6:30pm, introducing night-time cricket to the domestic stage.

According to ZC, the move aims to make the competition more accessible to supporters who can only attend after work while also giving players vital experience in conditions similar to international night matches.

The shift is particularly timely as Zimbabwe builds towards the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.

The competition itself was originally scheduled for January but was brought forward to ensure national team hopefuls spend more time in competitive T20 action before the global event.

As a result, fixtures for the Logan Cup and Pro50 Championship due between 9 and 14 December have been postponed, with revised dates expected to be announced soon.
