Three members of a notorious gang that had terrorised Gokwe and Empress Mine areas have been found guilty of murder charges.
The three Tavonga Masenga, Raphael Putse and Kudakwashe Mapolisa were slapped with different jail terms ranging from 30 to 36 imprisonment
According to the National Prosecuting Authority reports that the third accused person was driving a white Isuzu truck together with the accused persons and other members of the gang who are still at large when they identified the now deceased as one of the people who assaulted one of their gang members the previous day.
Upon seeing the now deceased, they all jumped out of their motor vehicle and charged towards the now deceased who ran away. They chased and apprehended him.
The accused person took turns to assault the now deceased using stones, wooden logs and machetes before fleeing the scene. A Police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused persons
The first and second accused persons were sentenced to 30 years imprisonment whilst the third accused person was sentenced to 36 years imprisonment.
