Beitbridge – An accident involving Toyota Granvia and Honda Fit motor vehicles has left two people injured in the border town of Beitbridge. The driver of the Granvia motor vehicle was allegedly speeding while trying to overtake two cars in front of him and subsequently sideswiped a Honda Fit, which veered off and hit two pedestrians.
The unfortunate incident occurred near Zuva Service Station.
After the side swapping, the driver of the Toyota Granvia lost control, went off the road, and struck two people a man and a woman injuring the both with the former coming worse off with more severe injuries.
After the incident, the driver of the Granvia fled the scene, with residents pursuing him to no avail.
The driver of the Honda Fit escaped unscathed. The accident comes as Beitbridge has been recording a number of accidents this year, some of which have resulted in fatalities.
