The second edition of the prestigious Beitbridge Corporate and People’s Choice Awards, are set for regional spicing as the awards, set for tomorrow, will be graced by counterparts from South Africa. This was revealed by  Nqobile Ncube, the Vice Chairperson of the Beitbridge Business Expo Board, who are organisers of the awards in partnership with the Municipality of Beitbridge.

“This is undoubtedly an event that is garnering national attention and also international focus as this year, we are hosting civic leaders from our twin, Town Musina, who are keen to emulate what we are doing here,” said Mr Ncube.

This year’s awards are no doubt bigger and better as the organizing team have gone all out to ensure the event epitomize the glitz and glamour synonymous with top awards events.

“We are grateful to be holding the second edition of the premier event and this year we have a streamlined program that will not tie down participants to long processes, we will start promptly at 1800 and have benchmarked ( the event) against big sister organisations like the ZiTF,” he said.

With 36 awards up for grabs, and winners selected through three methods that is, public online voting, adjudication panel and the executive of the awards, which selects the life time award

over a six month period and only granted over a unanimous decision, the Beitbridge Corporate and People’s Choice Awards promises to be exciting and comprehensive and representative of all sectors of the community.

“The adjudication panel selecting the winners, can you shed more light on it, the panel consists of leading community persons drawn from all spheres of industry, civic sector and the community. We are grateful for the time and sacrifice they made to work on this task despite being full time professionals. “

The adjudication panel consists of Mr JB Mzinyathi from Garikai and Partners, Madam C Hlanguyo Mitchell Cotts, Mr S Cele from PSC, Mr P Ncube from BRDC Madam M Zimuto from Department of Social Welfare.

All roads lead to Zebra Hilltop Lodge tomorrow evening, a fitting 5 star place to host such a spectra ,and this year the red carpet walk experience will start as early as 1700. Mr Ncube urged the Beitbridge community not to miss out on this great event as the Border town celebrates its own achievers and network with leading persons across industry.
