THE remains of another victim of the horror October 12 accident outside Makhado, formerly Louis Tritchadt, in South Africa is expected home after all preparations have been concluded.

The body is part of the 33 Zimbabweans who perished in the DNC Coaches bus tragedy, arguably the worst accident on that streets of the N1 in living memory.

The deceased succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Polokwane where they had been referred because of the serious nature of their injuries.

At Siloam Hospital where relatives of the deceased gathered to identify their loved ones, Phophi Ramathuba, Limpopo Province Premier, announced the death toll rose to 44, counting the body Zimbabwe will now receive.

Beitbridge District Development Coordinator Sikhangezile Mafu said they had received information te paperwork was ready signaling the remains would now be repatriated.

“Its one adult. We have information that the body is now ready to be shipped home,” she said.

Last week Mafu who is also Beitbridge head of the Civil Protection Unit received, with her principal the Minister of Local Government Daniel Garwe, 29 bodies of Zimbabweans all accorded State assisted repatriation and burials.

Of the 29 three were from Harare specifically Budiriro, Chitungwiza and Mabelreign.

Mashonaland East had two of the deceased with one from Goromonzi (Bhora) and another from Mutoko.

One person among the 29 was from Mashonaland West province and came from the mining town of Kadoma.

Masvingo had nine deceased of which six were from Bikita and the remainder from Zaka.

Two deceased were from Mutasa, another one from Honde, two were from Buhera while Nyanga and Rusape had one and two respectively.

Mashonaland Central had three bodies from one family while the remainder were from the Midlands Province districts of Gokwe and Mberengwa districts.
