Southern African Development Community Secretariat has extended their warm congratulations to H.E Mahamoud Ali Youssouf of Djibouti on his election as the new Chairperson of the African Union Commision.
The Secretariat took to its social media to congratulate Djibouti ‘s President Yousouf
“Congrats H.E Mahamoud Ali Youssouf of Djibouti on his election as the African Union Commission Chairperson ,” SADC Secretariat stated.
Meanwhile, The SADC Secretariat also congratulated the president of Angola, Joao Lourenco, the Chairperson of the African Union.
The Chairperson of the African Union is the ceremonial head of the African Union elected by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government for a one-year term. It rotates among the continent’s five regions, Central, Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western
“Congratulations President Joao Lourenco of Angola the Chairperson of the African Union,” SADC Secretariat stated.
The newly elected chiefs of the AU are assuming office at a critical moment as the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo faces a dire humanitarian crises which demands attention.
