The South African Revenue Services are seemingly open to open the bidding for South African Premier league side Royal AM due it’s owner ‘s tax debt.
According SABC, SARS is seeking to recover approximately R40 million in tax debt linked to the club president Shauwn Mkhize and her family trust. As a result, SARS views the franchise as a potential means of collecting the debt.
SARS has been given a go ahead to sell the club by the court, and interested buyers have been given an amount of 15million to get the club.
Meanwhile , Thwihli Thwahala is also currently under a ban from signing new players. However, this ban is expected to be lifted once the club settles its outstanding debts to players including Samir Nurkovic and Ricardo Nascimento.
Royal AM has not participated in a match since December 29, when they lost to TS Galaxy at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Following the SARS matter , PSL suspended all of the team’s fixtures after it was revealed that SARS had appointed a curator to oversee the daily operations of the team.
