South African National Civic Organization [SANCO] is set to lead a march today to the Union Building, demanding the government’s response to issues of illegal miners and undocumented migrants.

According to the SABC, SANCO is concerned about unregulated tuck shops (spaza shops) because many of them have been alleged to be  selling expired contaminated food. Additionally the organization ‘s national spokesperson, Donovan Williams emphasized much on issues doesn’t promote the people of South Africa.

“We haven’t had the assertiveness by government to put together programmes that are not about attracting investments but rather investing in the people of South Africa,” Williams remarked.

He also also highlighted that on the issue of  illegal miners they want the involvement of chambers of mines not just government. Additionally  they also want SAPS to be assertive on the matter because members of the chamber mines and the mine owners are getting off scot free.
