Newcomers Scottland FC have won the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title, becoming only the second team in Zimbabwean football history to claim the championship in their debut season.

The achievement matches the record set by Black Rhinos in 1984.

The Harare-based club secured the title with a 5–1 victory over Kwekwe United on November 2.

Goals came from Khama Billiat, Tymon Machope, Ronald Pfumbidzai, and Tadiwa Chakuchichi.

Following the match, Scottland FC confirmed the news on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, posting:

“ALL HAIL THE CHAMPIONS. Newcomers Scottland FC have won the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title. We win the title in our first season, equalling the record by Black Rhinos in 1984. #Mabviravira.”

Owned by businessman Scott Sakupwanya, Scottland FC accumulated 65 points from 32 matches, with two games remaining in the season.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya became the first manager in league history to win back-to-back titles with different clubs, having led Simba Bhora to the championship in 2024.

Team captain Walter Musona also achieved consecutive titles, captaining Simba Bhora last season before joining Scottland FC this year.

Sports journalist Micky Jnr commented on social media:

“Coach Tonderai Ndiraya makes history by winning the league for the second straight season, after lifting it last year with Simba Bhora.”

Football commentator Steve Vickers also noted the milestone, posting:

“Scottland are Zimbabwe champions in their debut season, taking the title with two games to spare.”

The team’s league win prompted widespread reaction from fans and media figures.

Journalist Stanley Gama wrote:

“When Scottland FC were 6th on the table, I said they would win the league title. There we are. Congrats Scottland FC, the 2025 Premier League Champions.”

Scottland FC will represent Zimbabwe in the next CAF Champions League season.
