Pregnant women in Mabvuku now have access to vital healthcare services at no cost, thanks to the recent opening of Scott Sakupwanya’s Scottland Medical Centre and Maternity.

The facility, which commenced operations in March, is dedicated to providing free medical services to expectant mothers, elderly patients with chronic illnesses, and other vulnerable community members.

As part of its community outreach, the centre is offering free ultrasound scans and comprehensive antenatal care (ANC) sessions. These ANC services are available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, featuring prenatal check-ups, health education, screening for pregnancy complications, and referrals to specialists when necessary.

In a public statement, Scottland Medical Centre emphasized its commitment to maternal health.

“We are pleased to announce that our medical centre will be offering Antenatal Care (ANC) services every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Our experienced healthcare professionals will be available to provide prenatal care, monitoring, and support for expectant mothers. These include routine check-ups, health education and counseling, screening for potential complications, and referrals when needed. We encourage all pregnant women to take advantage of these services to ensure healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries.”

Adding to its support services, the centre has also launched a free ambulance service to help pregnant women and other vulnerable patients access healthcare easily, addressing transportation barriers that previously hindered timely medical attention.

The initiative has garnered widespread praise on social media, with many community members and local supporters commending Scott Sakupwanya for his dedication to improving maternal health and community well-being.

This new healthcare initiative marks a significant step forward in addressing maternal health challenges in Mabvuku, ensuring that expecting mothers receive the necessary care to promote healthy pregnancies and deliveries without financial burden.
