Sheasham strengthened their bid for Premier Soccer League promotion with a commanding 5-0 victory over Jame West in a Central Region Soccer League Division One match over the weekend.
The Construction Boys maintained their unbeaten run, producing a dominant display against the league newcomers. Wilfred Madzungu starred with a hat-trick, while Fadrick Muza and Lucky Vundla added a goal apiece to seal the emphatic win.
Football enthusiast Marshall Magama said Sheasham now have the opportunity to make history if they maintain their form until the end of the season.
“It would be great for them to continue with their winning mentality. Now is the time not to lose focus. If they maintain the rhythm, they might be history makers. It will help them return to the top flight and also sustain the winning spirit,” Magama noted.
Elsewhere, Dulibadzimu United dropped more points in their promotion chase after being held to a 1-1 draw by Midlands State University FC.
At Mbizo Stadium, debutants Gwanda Pirates edged Tongogara 2-1 in a crucial encounter. The victory kept the Pirates in third place on the log, behind Hard Rock and the high-flying Construction Boys.
