Makhado Business Centre, straddling Gwanda and Beitbridge, will come alive this Good Friday as the highly anticipated Simufe Festival returns at Makhado Lodge on April 3rd, promising an explosive blend of music, culture, and raw local talent.
This year’s edition boasts a power-packed line-up featuring special acts such as Blackmoon, Melly Dawu, and Tsep De Voca, alongside an impressive roster of homegrown performers, Local crowd favorites including Bhadilah, Defeat De Vocalist, Jex Waga, Christen Mirror, DJ Bheris, DJ Fizzy, DJ Maonzy, Krystal Wamrepa, Gefabs, and Vha Fisher are all billed to set the stage ablaze.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Festival Promoter Mickey Simufe expressed both confidence and passion ahead of the event, emphasizing the platform’s mission to elevate grassroots talent.
“I was motivated by the number of talents Beitbridge has produced since 2015. This festival is a chance for local artists to showcase their hard work, build their brand, and grow a loyal fan base,” he said.
With its pulsating beats, live sets, and immersive atmosphere, the festival is expected to deliver an unforgettable Good Friday experience.
Visiting act Blackmoon, who hails from Elim in Limpopo province, shared excitement about crossing borders to engage with Zimbabwean fans.
“I cannot wait to perform for the Zimbabwean crowd. It’s always an honour coming to Beitbridge, the energy, the vibe, the atmosphere it’s something special,” he said.
Local artist Jex Waga echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the significance of the platform for emerging musicians.
“I am grateful for this opportunity. The Simufe Festival doesn’t come around often, and this year we are ready to shut it down. We’re bringing nothing but fire to that stage,” he said.
With anticipation building and the line-up locked in, the Simufe Festival is shaping up to be more than just a show it’s a celebration of sound, hustle, and the undeniable pulse of Beitbridge’s creative scene.
