BEITBRIDGE is set for a triple-treat night as Cardinal X25, Seh Calaz and Ndunge Yut headline the first edition of the Summer Fest at Pagomba Cafe on September 12.
South African music duo Cardinal X25 is expected to headline the event, with the group known for songs such as “Anginayo Imali”, “Hamba Uyofa” and “Unikezile”.
The duo has also built a following through its use of digital African rhythms, incorporating AI-generated tools into its music.
Cardinal X25 has more than 320 000 monthly listeners on Spotify and over two million views on YouTube for their viral song ‘Anginayo imali’.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, event coordinator Keith Ndiweni, popularly known as DJ Keitho, said preparations were progressing well.
“Preparations are progressing well and we are excited to bring South Africa’s best duo so far,” he said.
“Fans should expect a great night dominated with good music and performances full of surprises as we give everyone a memorable Summer Fest experience.”
A representative of Cardinal X25, Dj Keitho said the duo was looking forward to visiting Beitbridge for the first time.
“It’s an honour visiting Beitbridge for the first time ever. To our fans, we thank you for believing in us,” the representative said.
“bring your friends and come ready to sing, dance as we begin the journey together.”
The representative also said, the duo’s tour would also pass through Gwanda, while expressing anticipation for its Beitbridge performance.
“Our tour is passing through Gwanda; however, our expectations to meet the Beitbridge audience remain high as we shut down the Summer Fest,” the representative said.
The line-up will also feature veteran Zimdancehall musician Seh Calaz, Ndunge Yut and Beitbridge representatives Limpopo Pogba and TK Mari.
Born in Mbare, Harare, Tawanda Mumanyi, popularly known as Seh Calaz, is recognised for his contribution to the contemporary Zimdancehall genre and his signature “Check, Check, Check Mabhanditi” chant.
He has been associated with songs including “Mumota Murikubvira” and “Zvidhakwa”, while his music career has included a notable clash with the late Soul Jah Love.
Speaking ahead of the event, Seh Calaz said he was looking forward to returning to Beitbridge.
“I am really looking forward to Beitbridge. I know that Mabhanditi miss me since five years back when I last visited the town,” he said.
“I am coming with nothing but energy. My expectation is to connect with the crowd and give them a powerful performance they will talk about.”
With the event approaching, music lovers are facing an unforgettable experience as Beitbridge hosts the inaugural Summer Fest.
