Chivhu — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident that claimed two lives and left three others injured along the Chivhu–Nyazura Road on Saturday, August 23.
The accident occurred at the 73-kilometre peg when an Isuzu lorry carrying six passengers was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Axio, which had three passengers on board.
According to police, two people died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Murambinda Mission Hospital mortuary for postmortem, while the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
ZRP urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads and observe all traffic regulations to avoid further loss of life.
