The much anticipated 13 nation draw for the Under 20, African Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast 2025 (AFCON) is set to take place today in Cairo, Egypt today.
The Confederation of African Football confirmed that the U20 AFCON draw will take place around 14h25 local time (12.25 GMT).
“The Final Draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Cote d’Ivoire 2025 will take place on Thursday, 13 February in Cairo at 14h25 local time (12h25 GMT),” CAF stated.
The teams will be divided into three Groups (A, B and C), with Group A containing five teams and Groups B and C four sides each. Cote d’Ivoire, as the host country, is automatically preassigned to position A1 in Group A.
The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals along with the two best third-placed sides.
The top four nations in this competition will automatically qualify for the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup that will be staged in Chile from 27 September-19 October, 2025.
