“As the Second Republic, we will ensure that community radio stations are supported so that they continue to fully carry out their mandates as we drift towards the attainment of Vision 2030.”

He said the government is reaffirming its commitment to supporting community radio stations so they can contribute to national development goals.

“Let us always remember that, as the Second Republic, we are committed to broadening access to information for national development. Through support towards the attainment of targets for the National Development Strategy 1, in the information and communication thematic pillars, we allocated thousands of dollars to support Lotsha FM’s setup, demonstrating our dedication to this cause.” he said

“Let Lotsha FM continue to amplify the voice of the people, promoting transparency, accountability, and development. Together, we can achieve Vision 2030 and create a prosperous Zimbabwe,” he said.

Echoing these sentiments, Albert Nguluvhe, Minister of State for Matabeleland South and Devolution, highlighted the importance of community radio stations in the province.

“Lotsha FM is one of the four licensed community radio stations in our province, alongside Radio Bukalanga (Plumtree), Bayethe FM (Matobo), and Ntepe-Manama (Gwanda). This is a testament to the Second Republic’s commitment to broadening access to information and promoting inclusive growth.”

He said Lotsha FM plays an important role in educating people, preserving cultural identity, and bringing communities together.

“This station serves the Beitbridge community by providing vital information, promoting local culture, and fostering national unity,” he said.

Your visit, Honourable Vice President, highlights the importance of collaboration. We appeal for continued support from the community, Government, NGOs, businesspeople, and private sector partners to enhance our capacity,” He said.

One of the station’s presenters, Tapson Ndou, who had the opportunity to interview the Vice President, expressed appreciation for the experience.

“Having the opportunity to interview the Vice President is a great honour. It is a motivating experience that will inspire me and my fellow presenters to continue striving for excellence,” he said.
